Our Services
Diagnostic Assessment & Care Planning
Formulating a preliminary diagnosis based on symptoms and age-specific behavior patterns. Creating a customized care plan, tailored to the patient’s age group and insurance coverage (mental health benefits).
Initial Assessment
The therapist and client start with an initial assessment session where they get to know each other. The therapist asks questions to understand the client's presenting concerns, personal history, current life circumstances, and goals for therapy. This helps in establishing a therapeutic alliance and creating a treatment plan tailored to the client's needs.
Establishing Goals
Based on the assessment, the therapist and client collaboratively set specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART) goals for therapy. These goals serve as a roadmap for the therapeutic process and provide direction for the sessions.
Exploration and Insight
In subsequent sessions, the therapist creates a safe and supportive environment for the client to explore their thoughts, feelings, beliefs, and behaviors. Through reflective listening, empathy, and insightful questioning, the therapist helps the client gain a deeper understanding of themselves, their relationships, and their life experiences.
Skill Building
Therapy often involves teaching clients coping skills and strategies to deal with stress, anxiety, depression, anger, communication issues, or other mental health concerns. These skills may include relaxation techniques, assertiveness training, problem-solving skills, mindfulness practices, and boundary-setting exercises.
Building Self Confidence
Therapists help clients cultivate self-awareness, self-compassion, and self-acceptance. Through validation, positive reinforcement, and encouragement, clients learn to challenge negative self-perceptions, build self-esteem, and develop a greater sense of confidence and self-worth.
Monitoring Progress
Throughout the therapy process, the therapist and client regularly review progress towards the established goals. Adjustments to the treatment plan may be made based on the client's evolving needs and progress.

Any Questions
You’re responsible for all medical costs, regardless of insurance. We check benefits as a courtesy, but it’s not a guarantee. You must understand your insurance policy. If insurance doesn’t cover services, you’re still responsible for payment. Notify us of any insurance changes. You authorize insurance to pay us directly.
Please schedule a follow-up before your medication runs out. We only handle refills and changes during appointments at Maya Health Care & Behavioral Health Clinic. Missing appointments can disrupt your care and lead to relapse.
Please give us at least 24 business hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment. If you miss or cancel without adequate notice, there’s a $75 charge. This fee isn’t covered by insurance; you’re responsible for it. After three missed appointments, we won’t be able to continue services until all fees are paid.
A $50 fee applies to all returned checks.
If your healthcare provider is summoned to testify in legal matters, like custody cases, you’re responsible for covering travel expenses and hourly fees. These fees are based on our standard rates from when the provider leaves until they return. We expect at least 50% of the estimated cost before the court appearance, regardless of which side sends the subpoena.
We often use phone, email, and text for scheduling, billing, refills, and other service-related matters. While we encrypt our electronic communication, we expect you to protect your end (e.g., using a PIN for voicemail or password for email). If you’re not comfortable with electronic communication or it’s not secure on your end, please refrain from scheduling appointments with us.
